The EuGMS SIG on PERIOPERATIVE MEDICINE is glad to invite you to its next OPEN meeting that will take place on 12th March 2026, 16:00 to 17:00 CET (15:00 to 16:00 UK time)

 

The agenda of the meeting is as follows:

"The Profile and Outcomes of the Older Vascular Surgery Patient"
Prof Jugdeep Dhesi

Jugdeep is a consultant geriatrician at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, UK. Over the past 20 years she has led the establishment of the innovative and award-winning POPS (Perioperative medicine for Older People undergoing Surgery) service. This service has been replicated nationally and internationally with a strong evidence base for clinical and cost effectiveness.
Jugdeep is Honorary Professor at King’s College London and Associate Professor at University College London, with research interests including preoperative assessment and optimisation, health services research and postoperative delirium.
She is President of the British Geriatrics Society and Deputy Director at the Centre for Perioperative Care. She has extensive national and international experience in a variety of steering, advisory and guideline groups (NELA, RCoA, BGS, NICE, EuGMS, ANZCA) and has senior editor roles at high impact journals.
Jugdeep has a wide education and training portfolio, having established the first Allied Health Professional, Foundation and Specialist Registrar training programmes in perioperative medicine, co-authored e-learning modules, MSc modules and multiple textbook chapters. She is a frequently invited speaker nationally and internationally

Dr Judith Partridge

Jude Partridge works as a consultant geriatrician with the Perioperative care of Older People undergoing Surgery (POPS) team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK where she leads on the POPS-vascular service. She is an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London with research interests in health services research, delirium and frailty in the perioperative setting and has supervised and examined national and international doctoral programmes. She has a wide education and training portfolio, having established the first Allied Health Professional, Foundation and Specialist Registrar training programmes in perioperative medicine, co-authored e-learning modules, MSc modules and multiple textbook chapters. She is a frequently invited speaker nationally and internationally and advisor on national guideline groups.
