EuGMS SIG on Urinary Incontinence: Incontinence in older women with hip fracture

The EuGMS SIG on Urinary Incontinence is glad to invite you to its OPEN online meeting. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 15th April, from 14:00 to 15:00pm CEST (1-2pm BST and 15:00-16:00 Finland.

The meeting will feature a presentation by Aino Hellman-Bronstein on:
Incontinence in older women with hip fracture – predictors and outcomes
followed by comments on the presentation from Claudio Pedone.
Aino Hellman-Bronstein, Finland
Aino graduated from the medical school of the University of Turku in 2013 and completed her specialization in geriatric medicine in 2019. Under the supervision of Professor Maria Nuotio, she earned her PhD in geriatric medicine in 2025. Her doctoral research focused on incontinence among older women with hip fracture.
In clinical practice, she currently serves as an Associate Chief Physician at a memory diagnostic clinic in Salo. She also works part-time at Turku University Hospital, where she conducts comprehensive geriatric assessments for cancer patients. In addition, she continues her research on incontinence and is involved in a new prospective study on hematogeriatric treatment pathway.
Claudio Pedone, Italy
Claudio is a graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome and a specialist in Geriatrics. He trained in epidemiological research at Brown University in Providence, RI, where he earned a Master's in Public Health, and at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, where he earned a PhD in Preventive Medicine in Geriatrics. He performed clinical practice at the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital and is currently a Full Professor of Geriatrics at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma; he also is Head of the Geriatrics Unit at the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital Foundation. His research focuses on the assessment of health status in elderly patients and the identification of relevant prognostic factors in geriatric age. He is the author of over 300 publications with an h-index of 52.
